Polishing

Most decorative stone is polished. In the modern processing works, this is carried out on a sophisticated computer-controlled line marble polishing machine. Sheets of stone are carried on a conveyer under a series of rotating spindles charged with sequentially finer grades of abrasive. Firstly, any undulations in the stone are levelled. It then hones the stone to a very smooth surface, and finally buffs it to a glossy finish
